Soha arts building & soha smart

What is a Maker Space?

Through the Maker movement, we have been focusing on the importance of creating a space where kids and adults have the opportunity to make – a place where there are tools, state-of-the-art, cutting-edge technology, materials and enough expertise to get them started and enough achievement, challenge and reward to keep them going.

Maker spaces share some aspects of the shop class, home economics class, the art studio and science labs. In effect, a maker space is a physical mashup of these different places that allows projects to integrate these different kinds of skills.

SoHa SMART grew to fill the void where schools leave off due to cutbacks, budget concerns, or lack of resources and to help entrepreneurs and start-ups expand their current knowledge, get a firm foundation, invent and help shape the world.

It's a start and we think it's a great one.

The SoHa Arts Building hosts a community of artisans, creatives and makers. The two story, 18,000 sq. ft. building holds 38 individual studios for artisans, professionals, entrepreneurs, and start-ups.  Sustainable creation is the focus. This is  a creative space like no other and we are leading the way in helping the entrepreneurial spirit thrive as well as promoting the next industrial revolution.

From fine arts and STEAM education to business and industry, success is what we create the most of.  Surround yourself with a community of like-minded, highly motivated, and truly inspirational people.  Take a class or become a resident today!
